Die Rodgau Monotones gründeten sich 1977 und benannten sich nach ihrer hessischen Heimatstadt. Zunächst als lokale Band im Frankfurter Raum, wurden sie bekannt durch die Teilnahme an großen Festivals u.a. mit Santana und Bob Dylan. Spätestens mit ihrem Hit „Die Hesse komme!“ wurden sie weit über die Grenzen von Hessen bekannt. Dazu kamen ihre Auftritte im Rockpalast, in der Zeche Bochum 13.11.1984 und als zweite deutsche Band nach Wolf Maahn in der 16.
Rocknacht 19.-20.Oktober 1985.
Am 9. August 2023 starb unerwartet das Gründungsmitglied und Gitarrist Raimund Salg. Ihm wollen wir diese Sendung widmen.
Die beiden Rockpalast Konzerte werden in der Sendung besonders gewürdigt.
